“The worlds of fragrance and opera were brought together for three nights in March 2019 when The Royal Opera House Muscat, Oman, asked Roja Dove to capture the essence of their new world premiere production of Lakmé - Lakmé Eau De Parfum. With opera being one of Roja’s greatest loves, he was thrilled to have the opportunity to translate the story of Lakmé into a sensory experience for the opera’s gala premiere at The Royal Opera House Muscat.

As the ‘Flower Duet’ began the entire auditorium was scented with this opulent creation. Rose and Iris, inspired by the famous ‘Flower Duet’, weave a delicate harmony, each representing the two characters who bring the ‘Flower Duet’ to life. Lily-of-the-Valley’s bright, radiant character joins the performance, the bell-shaped flower capturing the playful sound of the exquisite ‘Bell Aria’ perfectly.

The rich heritage of the story is evoked by legendary Sandalwood from Mysore, alongside whispers of Frankincense – a homage to the beauty of Oman and a reminder of the breathtaking opening night at The Royal Opera House Muscat. Originally created as an Eau De Parfum for The Royal Opera House Muscat, this creation captured the world’s imagination. To continue its legacy, Roja Dove has created a perfume strength - Lakmé Parfum by Roja Parfums - globally exclusive to Harrods.” - Roja Dove
